Creating a ‘Red, Amber, Green’ (RAG) methodology for Lotus Cars to deliver its global network change programme.
Meda originally developed the ‘Red, Amber, Green’ (RAG) methodology more than 15 years ago, and it has proven to be a robust and highly effective development and delivery framework for automotive brand and network development teams across the globe.
For Lotus Cars, the RAG was developed to support a UK-based team - with Field Team managers based in six core locations across the world - who were tasked with delivering the new Lotus Retail Identity in record time and against a network landscape where each and every retail point was different in scale, operations and architecture.
In this instance, the RAG programme was also aligned with and measured against the Lotus ‘Vision80’ growth goals, and so drawing pack stages were tied to specific response times and drawing pack completions were tied to performance metrics.
To date, we have undertaken over 100 drawing pack projects.
The design of the programme allows individual operators and retailers to begin with an ‘Interim’ scheme, with a ‘Full’ scheme put in placed to future-proof the development once returns allow. In this way, the RAG process now also provides a road map for the brand at retail for at least the next 24 to 36 months, keeping the management team firmly in control of the business’s ambitions.
