Minoli had campaigned with Meda to recreate their long-standing identity and the company’s leading service standards, innovative product range and unbeatable logistics soon lead to the need for a London presence.
Meda were engaged by Minoli to create a retail outlet that captured the warmth of the brand with a contemporary luxury store, bookmatched with the Minoli Oxford showroom HQ. Meda Project Management and Architecture were appointed to bring this creative concept to fruition and the lease of the George street facility provided a conducive Ground floor display and a basement working studio.
The restrictions of the site meant that the ceiling had to “float” independently of the firelined soffit to the apartments above. A raft ceiling was used to bring shadow gaps with discreet lighting and services into the limited ceiling void available. The separation of reception, display and meeting spaces was kept open and light with use of backlit graphics and polished stainless steel portals linking the curated spaces.
Working with Minoli suppliers Carmalasa, the design accommodated the tile display cases with integrated display frames on pocket style, retractable racks recessed into the walls. The basement space incorporated similar display and configuration tables for sampling and testing the product.
The use of the Minoli tiles was implemented throughout the finishes demonstrating the exclusive look and feel of the environmen and highlighting the brand signature ‘The Surface Within’.
